Meet Our Clinical Team
Our therapists create an environment for clients to share what they are comfortable with and at their own pace. As we collaborate, our non-judgmental and person-centered approach allows clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, ideas, desires, challenges, regrets and behaviors. We serve clients who reside in Maryland.
Thoughtful & Intentional Counseling
We provide virtual, individual mental health services. Our providers are trained and experienced in administering culturally sensitive and clinical assessments, diagnosing psychological and mental health disorders; collaborating with clients to develop comprehensive treatment plans; and supporting clients identifying and implementing long and short-term coping strategies to manage, alleviate or eliminate psychological distress and mental health disorders. We support clients living with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder and those navigating lived experiences related to roles and expectations, relationships, racial identity, parenthood, marriage, young adulthood, immigrant experiences and more.
Step 1
Our process begins with an in-depth clinical interview to help us gain context around your background, experiences, perceptions, values, and so much more. This entire process is patient-centered, strength based and focused on you, your goals and your care. We are able to incorporate your identities and Christian beliefs into this adaptable process.
Step 2
In order to accurately determine a clinical diagnosis or gain a better understanding of any psychological symptoms that may be present, we administer a number of clinical assessments to help with diagnosing anxiety, major depressive disorder, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and more. We are able to clearly identify and understand the factors that cause, maintain or exacerbate your psychological experiences through assessments.
Step 3
Our collaborative approach to treatment planning ensures that what we talk about and what we work on throughout this therapeutic relationship is tailored to you and focused on your wants and needs. We talk you through behaviors, thought patterns, emotional patterns, relationship patterns you want to see yourself engage in more and those which you want to see yourself engage in less. From there, we work together to identify lifestyle and life stage appropriate interventions that you will now begin to engage in toward change and overall well-being.
We understand that while we may desire change at times when change starts to happen, it can feel very uncomfortable and so we work with you in adjusting to the change in the distress that may accompany it. We take your history into consideration and are trauma informed practitioners.
This means that we take into account how your experiences may inform your reaction or your response to change. We make sure to work at your pace and follow your guidance. That said, we will at times challenge you to ensure that you are moving towards your stated goals (unless of course you change your mind).​
